One of DAC's principals served as the Coordinating Engineer of the on-site construction management team of 35 managers, administrators and inspectors. The 69th Complex was built by 23 seperate contracts on only 44 acres near downtown Houston on the banks of Buffalo Bayou. The plants capacity is 200 MGD and 400 MGD peak hydraulic flow. The construction cost was $245,000,000. The contracts were built using three federal grants with the remaining funding from state and local agencies. Unique features of this project included: - an on-site oxygen generation plant;
- enclosed aeration basins to contain the oxygen rich air space;
- mix-media final effluent filtration;
- sixteen 180-foot diameter clarifiers;
- sludge drying facility;
- barge loading dock for dried sludge; and a
- distributed digital control system.
 69th St. WWTP & Sludge Drying Facility
The 69th Complex was built with 23 seperate contracts on only 44 acres near downtown Houston on the banks of Buffalo Bayou. The plant can treat 200 million gallons per day. The improvement in Buffalo Bayou was apparant within weeks as the plant treated sewage that had been overflowing into the bayou and added oxygen to the bayou in the effluent.  180-foot Dia, Clarifier at Sunset |
