Given the many projects we have managed in the public rights of way we have acquired a tremendous amount of experience with mitigating the issues created when a gas line, fiber optic duct bank, telephone cable or other exisiting condition is discovered and solutions have to be found quickly.

With very few exceptions improvements in the public space requires working with public and private utilities. The utilities that are underground can in some cases be located horizontally but usually how deep they are has to be found during exccavation. Record drawing locations--if the drawings exist--are often inaccurate. 

Work under the streets in a dense urban environment such as downtown Houston Texas presents many challanges during the construction process. Depending on what type of improvement is being made the existing lines may have to be relocated when discovered. Impacts to the bid contract and the adjacent stakeholders must be quickly and decisivly addressed.
